The weather was uncertain for the Schummer wedding. The two days previous were filled with power outages, rain and wind. It turned out to be a beautiful September day! Salon C is where the girls met, all dressed in their matching shirts. This salon trip was complete with muffins, fruit and mimosas. After everyone was finished the girls headed to get dressed. The ceremony was held on the waters edges of the St. Mary’s River outside the Elks. The Sammi and Shaun’s seven-month-old son Kaden was pulled in on a wagon by the flower girl Ella. Kaden was dressed in an adorable outfit; with suspenders, a hat, and yellow bowtie.
After family pictures the group got on a bus and headed to rotary park and Edison Soo for pictures. Pictures were complete with freighters, sailboats, and sun! The wedding party headed to couple bars in the downtown area for refreshments and some more pictures.
The reception was also at the Elks under a tent. Care was taken to lessen the amount of mud that was left from the storms complete with the bride changing in to her wellies for a time. Toasts of the matron of honor and best man were exceptional, heartfelt and amusing. In the brides family it is a tradition for her grandpa to sing Smoke! Smoke! Smoke! By Willie Nelson at every wedding. This was met with clapping and guests joining in.
I hope the Sammi and Shaun have a great married life with their little family! I am honored that I got to witness and document the wedding of my dear friend and wish them the best!
