It’s nothing but the truth when I say that nothing rained on Chris and Katlin’s parade! Hair started early at Jessica & Co, with the finish to the Marquette Marathon finish line just outside the door. The girls then went to get dressed and headed under cover of umbrellas to the band shell at Presque Isle. Although dreary, cold and wet, the wedding party went out to take pictures. They were a great group with minimal chattering teeth and shivers. J
To the reception everyone headed and freshened up. After a great dinner, and heartfelt, funny speeches , the party started. First dances done, Chris got a special surprise. His new mother-in-law had changed in one of her iconic jean dresses (which Chris dislikes) and put a jean jacket on the groom and had a silly dance to Forever in Blue Jeans by Neil Diamond.
After the bouquet and garter toss the couple played a game that was new to me, call the wedding shoe game. The bride and groom trade a show with each other. They then sit back to back so the newlyweds can’t see each other. The DJ reads questions about the couple and their relationship. The bride and groom then hold up the shoe for the person they think is the best answer to the question. It was extremely funny and a good time for the bride and groom and everyone watching and yelling out names.
I wish Katlin and Chris many years of happiness, which won’t be difficult considering how they handled a wet damp day. They found the true meaning of the day, everything isn’t always perfect, but with love and laughter, you can have the happily ever after!
